The 30th Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) will focus on emerging market demands such as quality housing, urban renewal, commercial transformation, cultural tourism night economy, and indoor farming. Together with the concurrently held Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT), GILE 2025 will span 250,000 square meters, covering 25 exhibition halls and featuring over 3,000 exhibitors from around the world. Debuting in 2025, the Light + Lifestyle Thematic Pavilion (Hall 6.1, Area A) draws inspiration from urban living routes to narrate the multifaceted beauty of light through spatial storytelling. Transitioning from traditional “lighting sales exhibitions” to a collaborative “aesthetic ecosystem,” the pavilion integrates lighting applications with lifestyle aesthetics.It will feature six themed pedestrian streets, each highlighting a unique lighting aesthetic:Art Deco Street, Contemporary Art Street, Modern Luxe Street, Parent-Child Wellness Street, Smart Architecture Street and Creative Optics Street.

The launch of the GILE Smart AgriTech Lighting Award marks a significant milestone in GILE’s ongoing “Light+” strategy, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to accelerate innovation in smart agriculture. As China’s first professional award focused on the intersection of bio-optics and AgriTech, it is hosted by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., with strong support from key national agricultural laboratories and top academic institutions.
Jointly supported by the Northeast Smart Agriculture Lab and Northwest Protected Horticulture Lab (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs), USTC Department of Optics, Hunan Optical Agriculture Center, Shanxi Agricultural University Tomato Industry Institute, and Guangdong Ocean University, the award recognizes groundbreaking achievements in Spectral technology for crop cultivation, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), Intelligent facility agriculture, Aquaculture lighting and Photonic pest control.

As a dazzling highlight of the 2025 GILE, Hall 10.1—titled the “Trendy Living Home Lighting Design Pavilion”—emerges as a pioneering platform for the integration of home aesthetics and lighting technology. As the core embodiment of the theme “Light + Aesthetic Living,” the pavilion embraces the concept of “Light and Shadow as Narrative, Life as Poetry,” redefining the emotional and spiritual essence of home spaces through three key dimensions: artistic lighting, smart interaction, and sustainable design.
Driven by both consumption upgrades and aesthetic awakening, home lighting has evolved beyond its function as a mere illumination tool. It has become a medium for lifestyle expression, cultural identity, and emotional resonance.
Hall 10.1 highlights three major trends: Scene-based storytelling in artistic lighting, Seamless interaction in smart lighting, and Ecological expression in sustainable design—presenting a transformative aesthetic experience where art meets technology and design dances with life.

“In 2025, we will embark on a new chapter building upon our past achievements, with design as the core foundation, deeply exploring the story of harmony and coexistence between Eastern and Western design. From June 9th to 11th, Hall 10.1 will host a three-day series of five high-end design aesthetic dialogues. The event will be curated by JAX Lanzo, a distinguished figure with 20 years of international experience and a dual identity as both a French architect and lighting designer. With a diverse background spanning architecture, interior design, and urban planning, he upholds the philosophy of ‘sensing architecture without touch, and experiencing design through touch.’ His approach uses light and shadow as a medium for creation, offering a unique perspective to the event.”
"The concept of the 'Tale of Two Cities' originally stemmed from our strengths in the Italian design field and was intended to present a design dialogue between Milan and Guangzhou. However, we are not content with a simple geographical connection; instead, we aim to transcend spatial boundaries, guiding participants through time to hear the design voices of different eras. While tracing the past, we also reflect on current design trends."

As the official accolade of GILE, the world’s largest lighting exhibition, the Alighting Award has, over the past 12 years, evolved into one of the most authoritative and internationally influential honors in the lighting industry. With its mission to set industry benchmarks and define future directions for lighting products and technologies worldwide, the award continues to shape the global lighting landscape.
In 2025, the 13th Alighting Award will focus on green, low-carbon, and intelligent connectivity, aligning with global energy transitions and smart city initiatives. Building on its high standards and rigorous criteria, this year’s award introduces an enhanced judging system, inviting emerging designers and senior electrical engineers to strengthen the professional breadth of the jury.
The 2025 edition attracted 1,059 organizations and individuals, submitting 1,371 projects. The National Excellent Lighting Awards were evaluated through public voting and project roadshows, resulting in 135 shortlisted Lighting Product Awards, 59 shortlisted Lighting Engineering Awards, 86 shortlisted Lighting Design Awards and 41 shortlisted Dawn Awards for Emerging Designers.
Additionally, the Regional Excellence Awards, aimed at fostering local innovation, were supported by 21 partner institutions. A total of 197 projects were recommended, with 119 accepted for review, ultimately resulting in 59 regional winners selected through strict evaluation criteria.
