357 Lighting Companies and 4,823 Products on Display! The 139th China Import and Export Fair Opens
On April 15, the 139th China Import and Export Fair (hereinafter referred to as the “Canton Fair”) officially opened offline in Guangzhou.
It is reported that this year's Canton Fair covers a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with approximately 75,500 to 75,700 booths, attracting over 32,000 participating companies. Among them, around 3,900 exhibitors are first-time participants, with all key figures surpassing previous editions. As of early April, the number of pre-registered overseas buyers had exceeded 210,000, and 290 leading purchasing companies have confirmed attendance, marking a year-on-year increase of 30%.
Of particular interest to the lighting industry, according to real-time data from the fair's official website, a total of 357 lighting companies are showcasing 4,823 lighting products at this year's event. Among them, 342 lighting exhibitors are presenting their products through offline displays.
Compared with previous editions of the Canton Fair, both the number of participating lighting companies and the number of exhibited lighting products have increased to varying degrees. The number of lighting exhibitors has grown by more than 63%, while the number of lighting products on display has surged by nearly 80%. This indicates that despite escalating regional conflicts worldwide—such as the Israel–Hamas conflict and the Russia–Ukraine War—lighting enterprises across China remain confident in expanding their export business.
Even more encouraging is that, at this year's China Import and Export Fair, a total of 23 lighting companies are first-time participants, representing an increase of 10 compared to previous editions. This further highlights the fair's strong influence within China's lighting industry. In terms of product categories, all exhibited lighting products at this year's fair include 1,786 general lighting fixtures, 1,893 LED lighting products, 387 light bulbs/tubes, 299 lighting accessories, 193 emergency and safety lighting products, 27 entertainment and stage lighting products, and 238 other lighting products. The number of products across all categories has increased to varying degrees compared with previous editions.
From a more detailed segmentation perspective, general lighting fixtures include popular product types such as smart home lighting, solar lighting, study lamps, and portable lighting. Other lighting categories also feature emerging segments such as ultraviolet disinfection lighting, horticultural lighting, and photography fill lighting.
Among all exhibited lighting products, 1,277 are new products, 1,558 are green and low-carbon products, and 756 are smart lighting products. Notably, new products and green low-carbon products account for approximately 26.48% and 32.31% of the total, respectively, effectively meeting the procurement demands of both domestic and international buyers amid current industry trends.
In addition, in terms of the strength of participating lighting companies, this year's China Import and Export Fair also features subsidiaries of listed enterprises, allowing both domestic and international buyers to fully witness the strong capital strength of Chinese lighting companies on display.
Over the next five days, participating lighting companies will successively showcase their latest products and brand images. Against the backdrop of multiple challenges in the global trade environment, China's lighting industry still holds high expectations that exhibitors at this year's Canton Fair will achieve strong promotional results. It is also hoped that more lighting companies will leverage future editions of the fair as a platform to step onto the global stage and accelerate their international development.
